Retay Gordion FF Placement

Has anyone ever drilled and tapped a Gordion in The rear of the receiver? I would like to put a fast fire on it that is further back than the dove tail allows. The gunsmith that did it on my M2 Suggested that he wouldn't be able to do the same thing on other guns.
