Had a good hunt with a buddy this morning on the military base. He drew and I didn't. Decided to tag along when I got off work this morning even though the weather was less than ideal. We thought we heard a gobble off the roost but it was windy and hard to tell. Listened for a while moved closer and listened but never heard it again. Decided to move on then circle back through. When we got back to that area we confirmed that it was in fact a gobble when he answered my call. We made a very small move and set up with me calling from 20 yards behind him. The bird jumped all over my first call after we set up and then went quiet for 5 minutes. After a short wait I called again and he hammered at 60 yards just out of sight. 1 minute later it was all over. Our opener is tomorrow and I'm going with a good friend that I always hunt with opening day but I should finally get to start hunting for my self soon. On the way out we found a pretty unique spot to snap a picture
