ok,i took this spring off from traveling out of state in hopes of drawing a iowa bow tag for this fall.well i did`nt draw and made my mind up i`m going turkey hunting this spring and with three preference points should draw next time when i decide to go to iowa.the plan is to head to northeast kansas again this year, its a long way to go from pa to kill a eastern but the hunting in 2010 was so good not to try.the next stop on the trip is for my first merriam.i`ve hunted northeast nebraska before the hunting was good but most of the birds were easterns with a pile of i guess you would call hybrds in the mix.i`m thinking of the three choices would be 1.northwest nebraska,
2.the black hills of wyoming,3.the black hills of south dakota.looking to hear from the guys who hunted these areas, not to find there hot spots just to find out of the three choices what in your opinion would the best place to kill a merriam and there experiences good or bad.also thinking of pulling my pop up camper along any good camping areas would be great.i know from what i read the weather out west can be a big factor conpared to back east and later may the weather is more predicable.our season here in pa opens first week in may so i`m hoping not to miss our opener.
