What is your favorite call and why? Pics are nice.
My favorite call is a bodark pot with a glass surface and a slate soundboard that doubles as a second calling surface on the bottom side. It has a rio feather glued to the sound board under the glass. I bought the call from Jerry Hampton (Southern Outlaw Game Calls) at a show in LR. There were hundreds of people in the building and you couldn't hear yourself think it was so loud with people trying out turkey calls. owl hooters, and gobbler tubes. There were live gobblers in a pen that everyone was trying to make gobble with no success. I picked up this call off of his table and when I started cutting on it the gobblers went nuts. Even with all the noise, it would hurt your ears when you cutt hard on it. Since buying it I have struck gobblers with it farther than anyone would believe. It also makes all of the soft stuff just as well.
BTW - I have broken the glass in this call three times. I like to lift the striker off of the surface and pop it to make loud cutts to strike a turkey. Each time he replaced the glass for free even though I told him it was my fault. He says it should not happen? The third time he built me a new call and sent it back with it no charge. It's a great call but cannot touch the other for volume.

As you can see the finish is dull and the feather is deteriorated, but she sounds better than ever. If I can figure out how to post video, I will put up a clip.

This is my 2nd favorite call. My wife had it made for me by Mr Albert Paul for my 30th b-day in 04'. It is higher pitched than most box calls and will produce any sound a turkey makes. It is butternut and walnut and she also had him make me a sheep wool lined leather holster.
With this call I learned you can finish turkeys with a box and not just locate them!!

one of the older ol yellers with a rosewood striker and a double "D". nothing special, easy to carry, easy to use, and they bring in toms.
