New Arkansas State Record Crappie - 5 lbs!!!

thats a biggun!!!!!!!!!! 4 years ago i caught a crappie outta a local farm pond. 17 1/2"  long . i had no scale so i dont no what it weighed.. all i no is i caught it on a rattle trap that i was using to catch bass on
congrats to that young angler.. now he will be chasing that high for many years
hope this one don't spoil him for his life...................lol

That's right at 2.5lbs.

Congrats to the boy on a fantastic crappie!!!!!!! That picture of the boy with the crappie isn't a 5 lb. crappie though. Must of not had a good picture of the beast. I've been chasing crappie for 35 years, 20 years hardcore, and my biggest is 3.56 lbs, 18 3/4". I'm jealous to say the least!!!!!!! God bless.

I agree.  But I didn't want to rain on the parade.  That 4lb 2oz crappie I witnessed yrs ago in the early 90's would make that one look small.  It was as wide as a 5 gal bucket and 19" long.  A 5lb crappie would have to be right at 20" in length.
