I recently had a Cherry pot with crystal over glass crack. I don't know what happened but maybe the wood changed, either warping or growing/shrinking. I was going to replace both cracked parts with like materials but thought it might be best to do something stronger. I was thinking ceramic over aluminum. My question is: Is .080" thickness Aluminum too thick to use as a sound board? Also, the Ceramic is .125" thick, will that take more stress than .080" crystal (I think that was thickness, not posted)?
Thanks
Ches.
