Make sure you’re getting what you pay for

I have been loading my own shells for a few years now but out of curiosity decided to cut open a few shells of top producers of tungsten shells(20GA only) and see the quality that went into them. Overall no complaints out of most of the top producers until I cut into a Rogue. You would think that for charging 10$ a shell for 20 gauge that Rogue would at least cut a straight line in the wad for you but that apparently isn't the case. I'm guessing that starting up the company as quick as they did they didn't have everything "down pat" before mass producing. Moral of the story is be sure you're getting what you pay for.

I was in Corinth Mississippi at 2nd Amendment Store / Sporting goods and i saw the large display of Apex and Rogue TSS. It was unreal have big of a display they had of TSS and other turkey ammo... Now i see why Apex doesn't ever have any in stock on line ... that store in Corinth Miss has it all... If any of you guys are in Corinth Miss go to 2nd Amendment and see for yourself all the TSS Ammo... thousands of dollars .... They had some much turkey stuff and turkey guns it was unreal.

That happens when I cut my wads, even though I use a jig, but mine are not that drastic!  You really think it has an effect on patterns?

I cut mine with and without a jig and saw zero difference.

It does I have experimented with it myself, nothing insane with mild variation but with drastic cuts 100%. Im not saying it will make your pattern unhuntable, but it will affect pattern density and pattern "favoring" a side.
to get the best cuts possible use a 4 blade arrowhead on your drill press and use that

There is a fella that makes a jig specifically for cutting wads. Takes any guess work out of it and he makes them wad specific for desired depth whether it's a VP90, TPS, or any other wad you might be using. Ideal for garage loaders like a lot of us are. On the flip side GAEP makes a splitter for what I would consider the larger production scale. Chucks into a drill press, set it, get to splitting. Having one that cockeyed is pretty much unacceptable if consistency is desired with all the tools that are available to the loader whether it be sitting at his kitchen counter or loading at a grander scale for the masses.
