For me I'll dry brine it for at least 24 hours, then use Meathead's Simon & Garfunkel rub mixed with oil into a paste before smoking it in my Pit Barrel Cooker with some Alder wood chunks. 4 hours to perfection.

Gonna let the women folk do their thing with the turkey and ham. I will save my wild turkey and cooking for when all the people I really like come over. One of my good friends and his girlfriend are coming up from DC but they want deer steak, tomatoes soup and grilled cheese.

With just two people we do not even bother anymore.
Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength. Arnold Schwarzenegger

Have two breasts left. Pot pie one and maybe smoke the other.
Looking to buy Allen Dunfee scratch boxes.

Similar to what Happy said. Going to my daughter's house...she is cooking the turkey breast & ham. I'm going to play with the Grandkids, eat, play some more and come home.

If it's anything like previous years the wife "Mo" and her sister will go all out.
Last year 52 Lb's of turkey, three different corn dishes, three types of stuffing
(pan fried, one done in a casserole dish and in the bird) peas with pearl onions, green bean casserole, Mashed and sweet potatoes, Sweet corn from the garden and deserts!
This for 14 people!
Mo's thoughts, everybody takes a dish or two with them so they have leftovers!

My Mom passed at 88 back in June. Our tradition for the last 40 to 50 years has been to meet, as a family, at her home and enjoy a bird and fellowship. This year will be NO different, it will only be without our Matriarch. My sister will be in charge of oven roasting the turkey, 21 pounds I believe, and we ALL will pitch in to prepare the fixings. Give your FAMILY a BIG HUG on Thursday and tell them you Love them! A New Tradition Begins!

By buying it from a lady in town.
"A turkey hen speaks when she needs to speak, and says what she needs to say, when she needs to say it. So every word a turkey speaks is for a reason." - Rev Zach Farmer
