when i started turkey hunting i used the biggest vest most pockets that carried everything. slimmed down to a cabelas tactical tater carried lil less. now im using run n gun vest better but not great. honestly thinking now chest pack would be even better. i only carry license, mouth calls, keys, cell phone maybe a crow or owl call. thinking a chest pack might even be better. like to hear what  chest packs you guys are using?  also what do you sit on nothing or carry something?

I've used an HS Strut chest pack for years.

I will check those out thanks what do you do about a seat

ChesterCopperpot

So I actually attach that chest pack to the bino straps of a pack and then I have an HS Strut seat that I attach to one of the belt buckles of the pack. I shove the seat between the pack and my back en route. It's not a minimalist set up by any means. It's not lighter than a vest. It just fits my needs better. If I were just going to run a chest rig and tote a seat I'd probably carry one of Glenda Green's seats and just attach it to my belt when I'm walking. Could also ask her to sew a shoulder strap onto the seat so you could carry it like a satchel.

Here's my rig with that HS Strut chest pack: Turkey vest alternative

See if you can still locate a rng 100 maybe, have never handled one but it's turkey specific.

Nomad makes one now..If I was going to buy one I wouldn't look for made just for the turkey hunter..I'd look around on some western big game hunting forums..I'd say it would narrow your search do a lot.

I have this one...I have used mine a few times, for turkey hunting I don't care for it because it's just to much in the chest area when you sit down and pull you knees up to get ready..Sure you can take it off very quick and easy..I have used it for deer hunting a hand full of times and I like it a good bit for that purpose

I use the pocket on my north mountain gear leafy pull over. It's a big pocket. I usually carry a call striker gloves facemask etc in it

X2, that pocket is fantastic. Deep, wide, easy access, and carries a bunch....

I have the Marsupial bino holder and love it. Another benefit of a chest/bino holder is you can rest the gun stock on it while a bird is taking his time coming in.

Hill People Gear are great packs. Use them for hog hunts in the deep water swamps. Never turkey hunted it but I'm sure they would be better than a lot of the cheaper bino harnesses.

On a rare case when I use pot calls, and a box I'll use this chest pack from Outdoor vision. It is very well made, light, and has great capacity. The shoulder harness straps are very comfortable. Another great alternative.
