Wingbone, right or left handed?

Sent my wife's first turkey up to Tony Ezolt to make her a call (she's always wanted one and I always told her I'd get one made with her first). But I sent Tony the bones off the left wing. In my mind the left wing makes right handed calls, and the right wing vice versa. Anyhow when I mentioned this to Tony about one side making a right or left handed call he said he'd never thought about it. He said he'd play them one way sometimes and completely turn them upside down at other times. Obviously he can run one a lot better than I'll ever be able to and he makes more calls than most. Just curious about other folks, if you prefer one side or the other? If you're not real familiar, they point opposite ways. In this photo the call on the left was made with a right wing and the one on the right with a left wing.

Does not seem to matter as far as running them. Left or right seem to run the same for me.

They run the same for me too, so has to do with comfortability in hand.

I've thought about this a bit before as well. I run wingbones and trumpets more in my right hand, and on the wingbone I prefer the flat section of the humerus to be against my palm. Then my fingers wrap more naturally around the rounded section. So, for playing the call right handed, my preference would be the call on the right of your photo.

As mentioned, this isn't that important, and flipping the call somewhat reverses this, but I find it most comfortable if the bell flares slightly upward rather than facing downward when the call has been flipped.

I can not tell a difference. Both sides work for me.

The only time the side comes into play for me is if I'm trying to use it one handed. Having the flat against your palm like green trumpeter suggested is easier for me. If im using both hands it does not matter.

Dunno. Tony made me an excellent wingbone awhile back and it seems to align with my lips, and hand hold, if held in my right hand. So being right-handed I'm good to go. But I could see whereas if a person wanted to hold the wingbone in their left hand they should tell the manufacturer. Trumpet...doesn't matter.

I honestly never even thought about right hand or left hand wingbone as far as making a difference to anyone.....it doesn't to me. I have had (recently) a few requests for a particular side. There wasn't something put out on FB was there, lol?

One solution for those who wish their call was made from the opposite wing......flip it over.
