Hunting Mariams in New Mexico

I am planning on going to hunt in New Mexico in a few weeks to hunt in the Lincoln National Forest. Never been there before so could use any advice from those that have. I have killed plenty of Rios here in Texas and hunted Mississippi and Arkansas.
Any advice would be helpful.
