MISSISSIPPI Double beard

Does anyone here save the gizzard contents such as gravel and rocks? I thought a saw a post on here one time with pics someone put in a bottle. I was curious as to the different types of gravel and such from different parts of the country would vary. Color, size etc.

I do. They can be quite different from different areas

I do also.   And the colors can be completely different from opposite ends of the same county.  Pour them into the same glass jar and look at the layers over the years.  Pretty neat trophy.

Share some pics guys, if you don't mind.

I put some of the rocks from the gizzard on the wingbone last year.

Great looking wingbone even better with the gravel. Thanks for sharing

I started saving mine but I've only collected from 3-4 birds. Mine are in a bowl right now but I like the bottle layers idea a lot better.

Here are a few. One Tom had a large turtle stone feddish.

That is one of the coolest trumpets I've ever seen.

Turkey gizzard has got to be one of the most pungent odor ever devised. I can scrub for hours and not get that smell out of my skin.

I enjoy eating the gizzard (and heart and liver) but have never thought to save the rocks, cool idea!

I got a buddy who has been checking gizzards for years.  He's found all kinds of interesting stuff including nuts, bolts...

Never thought to save the grit.  Cool idea.
