Congrats!  We need to get some BAN FUNKY bumper stickers.  Just kidding of course.  I won't hunt without him.  LOL.

Guessing a young man that age and size is in the .410 and TSS club?
No sir, he is shooting a 20 gauge with TSS

Took my 5 year old this morning and he was able to harvest his first turkey and a heck of a bird at that. They gobbled good on the roost this morning. They hit the ground and gobbled a few times and shut up. We just stayed put on a little food plots next to a creek bottom. At about 8:15 he gobbled one time. I called and he answered. He was still a good ways off but I just shut up and didn't call anymore. About 20 minutes passed and here he come down the road spitting and drumming. He shot him at 10 yards over the top of the funky chicken decoy. He whipped on the old funky chicken for a minute before he shot him. I don't know who was happier, me or him. Had 4 beards and 1" spurs.
That's awesome, congratulations to you and that young man! I bet ya he's hooked.

Oh yea, he is ready to go back. I told him it doesn't always happen like it did yesterday, especially in Louisiana.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Congrats to you both. That photo truly is worth a thousand words. His smile says it all. First bird at age five is Outstanding.
