I guess someone should have warned me that custom calls will become an addiction.    I already have 3 in my collection and I have at least 2-3 more calls in the works using different materials for the pot/ striker and calling surface.

For my next call, I'm wanting to go with either a Titanium or Glass surface with either a Bocote/ Wenge/ Laminated pot.

Does anyone have any experience with these combinations, or will they even sound like a Turkey when played.

The thing about matching materials is the density of the woods you chose and the level of depth in the inside of the pot. the material used for the striking surface should definately match the wood you use for the pot...but in the end it is the inside dimensions and the floor thickness that designate the sound as it bounces off the inner walls and the inner floor at different speeds depending on the wood use. Bocote is a great choice for titanium, and if you were looking for a pot made out of wenge glass would be my choice.
