After visiting the NWTF in Nashville, what happened to all the better made blinds? Almost all of them were the cheap feeling plastic versions. Even the one's I bought a year ago, that start with a R and end with an O are now cheap plastic. I get it... less expensive to make. At least give me a choice of a better material feeling blind that will hold up for more than a year. I will pay more for it!!! (I guess that there would be my answer). Everything built to last a year. I did just see that Blackout through Cabela's had a 5 sided blind, and the reviewer stated that it had the same material as the original Double Bull, so gonna try it out. Have you all seen the same? Please...Not a debate on using a blind or not!!!

Primos double bull are the best... The original rhino blinds were nice but quality has gone down hill since they sold out. Ive had good luck with some of the "cheaper" primos blinds over the years also. Main thing is blind material, 600D polyester is what you want for durability. Alot of blinds nowadays are 100/150 D polyester and just arent going to hold up. I highly doubt any blind currently sold by cabelas/bass pro is remotely in the same league as a double bull... Other blinds currently on the market that look good to me are the Xenek blinds, and the new hawk blind made out of 600D.

That cabelas blind weighs over 30lbs..... that would be a deal breaker for me

The best blind I ever owned as far as ease of setup, room and the windows placed well for me was the Ameristep Roundhouse but they stopped making in around 2001 had one that got ruined on me because I was not able to retrieve it after my car accident. I also liked those zip in floors that were great once the snow came, really helped keep you warmer.

I now have two Barronet blinds that I would put right up there in quality with the Double Bull blinds as far as build quality and material, especially the material they have started to use the last two or three years on the Onx 5 and the new versions of the Pentagon blinds.

My complaint with them is the same complaint I have with most every hub style blind and that is the doors can be hard to enter, I have fallen on my face several times getting both in and out of every hub style blind I have used. The Onx 5 door is much better than the Pentagon door but does not go down to the ground like the old style Ameristep blinds did, I have never had a problem getting into a string steel blind. I also do not like setting up hub blinds as I am kind of short so I can't reach the center hub to pull it up first and have to set them up sides first then get in and push up the center hub. Understand if not for my car accidents and my spinal stenosis that causes my foot to drag a little I may not have this problem but I have had other friends get into various hub blinds and come close to falling as well, they just need to bring the doors down closer to the ground.

I have two of the original (pre-primos) double bull matrix blinds, and a newer 270 surround view. Night and day difference in the quality of the material and ease of set up. The old blinds are nearly 20 years old and still like new.
