It never hurts to wipe. I guess some people never do..  Agree it's your decision on how you want to take care of your trumpets. If you feel no need to clean it after season again that's your decision. I just think it's a good idea to clean them after season or after using ever so often, it kind of like brushing you teeth only after turkey season. I just like brushing my teeth everyday.. LOL..

Well it is what it is and there is a lot of factors that could cause that rather than normal use. I am not worried about it and I am definitely not running alcohol through natural materials like ivory and Buffalo horn.

I wonder if the mold that people have had form is from running them hard then standing them up when you put them away? Too little air flow when they're standing?
