I purchased the Holosun based on a recommendation I got from here. I wanted a Leupold because I have had really good luck with their scopes but when I was shopping there were none available. The downside to the Leupold is you have to purchase a mounting plate. Anyway back to the Holosun it was about $150 cheaper than the Leupold including the mounting plate. One feature that I really like on the Holosun is it has a solar panel to charge the sight. The Holosun was easy to mount on the gun and only required a couple of shots to get it to zero POA/POI

We use FF3's on our primary guns.  We really like them, but I agree that the battery caps are a PIA.  I also have a Vortex Sparc 2 that I slapped on one of my backup guns that works great.  I think that model is discontinued, though.

I think most people on this forum have the fast fire from what I've seen. I have the Bushnell TRS-25 and it's worked well for me. Had it on a 535 and now on m3500 and so far no issues with it.

It's the only red dot I've ever had so I dont really know the difference between  it and a high end one.

I had a similar issue with my FF3. I contacted them and it turns out the battery they shipped with it was out of spec. The new battery they sent fit perfectly - no threading issues.

My son and I both have a Burris FF3 on our guns with no issues. If you want cheaper but a little bigger, the Bushnell  trs-25 works good as well.  My son had one on a 30-30 and killed several deer with it and one on his turkey gun a s killed several turkeys. We only changed his to the FF3 because of size.

I just bought the wife a Truglo Open Dot for less than $50.00 and it works great so far. I've used a Truglo Gobble Stopper for several years and never had any issues with it other than the end covers breaking off and they weren't necessary anyway.  Both inexpensive and point the barrel the same place a more expensive model would.

I bought the Sig, Romeo 4 with the battery solar panel. Pricey but boy is it ever nice!!  Auto shut-off when the gun is still, turns on when you move the gun.............love it..

I have used a Leupold Deltpoint pro for several years. Auto shut off is a nice feature easy battery replacement. Several brightness levels that are easily adjusted. I like the steel guard it comes with it gives a more ruggedness to the optic IMO. Ran it on a cut down EGW picatinny rail and the Leupold cross slot mount.  This year I switched over to a Sumtoy mount.  It made a lot slimmer compact fit. Mine is on a 870 SM that is factory tapped.  You will need to drill and tap one hole if your using a Sumtoy mount on factory Remington. The mount is shorter than factory hole spacing. I had factory rear hole re-tapped to a larger screw size when I had new hole drilled and tapped. We used a large torx head screw for a little more durability.  Picture shows the height difference between the two mounting systems.
