It finally happened...

I like routine. Especially eccentric cheap ones. Lately that involves a late Wednesday night Wal-Mart run. Always the stated reason is "to check for ammo," but the last time I saw ammo at this particular Wal-Mart was a lone box of .243 Win in November...until last night.

Spent less than $30 to get 30 rounds of Winchester Double X.

I had plenty of ammo already for this season. But now I have enough for several. Probably going to start the season with some 3.5's then switch to this 3" load after green up (but who knows, my gun + choke might pattern the 3's better?).

I've seen on FB a couple other guys in various states having the same luck as me with these exact loads (and sometimes 4 shot, too). I suspect Winchester is really cranking them out right now, maybe focusing on little else than turkey loads. Don't be surprised if your Wally World gets a shipment—I have heard the ammo shipments Wal-Mart locations get are getting bigger, sometimes including Winchester PP rifle ammo.

My buddy brought me a box of those this week that he picked up at Walmart. $10 a box, can't beat it.

I was in my local Wally World early this week but you couldn't find a box of anything.  They had their turkey stuff out (Turkey decoys, turkey chairs and calls) but NOT ONE round of ammo.  Two weeks until our opener and zero.  I've got plenty but I'm sure others are Franticly searching.  I'll check this weekend and report back.
