2021 Spring Turkey Hunting & Fishing COVID-19 Restrictions

I have gotten my first shot and have been quarantined for months...I hope and pray I can travel to hunt this spring!

So far so good, from what I'm hearing and reading! There aren't any states requiring a quarantine after arrival and no states requiring a negative test before flying in. All looks good for the traveling turkey hunter, at least for right now.

I have gotten my first covid shot and scheduled the second in three weeks. I am sure hoping to get to at least my neighboring state. Last spring was the first time in 30 years I did not get to hunt there.

I am doing KS, NE and KY this Spring.  Have purchased licenses/tags in all 3 already so they cant stop me even if they wanted to. 

None of the masking or quarantine stuff makes any difference anyway so live your life, do what you want, and be happy i say!

Just go and hunt and don't worry about it.  That's what I do.  Quarantine. That's for communist countries.

The following update of currently impacted state hunting and fishing seasons is an unfortunate reality as they were this past year... I will continue to update this when states ease and or rescind restrictions entirely. Instead of season shutdowns, many states have opted for 10 to 14-day quarantines with options of 72 hour testing to forgo the quarantine which modifies our plans at the least, or ends the possibilities of taking the trip in the worst scenario. In general most of the restrictions will affect all travel without regard to purpose. Canada is currently shut down for all recreational activities for non-residents.

Please review your home state for return restrictions as you would for your next hunting or fishing destination as 23 of the 52 states are currently subjected to restrictions....

So Kentucky recommends a 14 day quarantine. I live one mile across the state border from Kentucky in Tennessee. I am planning on hunting Kentucky this year.

Maybe I'm a pessimist but I see the this administration not giving up the POWER. This is what they want. Total control of populations. They restrict interstate movement, tell you where, when and how you travel to other states, and basically restricting your freedom. Some states even tell what you can and can't do, where you can go etc.If you think things will eventually return to normal you are not living in a normal world. Once the government grabs power like this they don't give it up easily. Just look at the gun and ammo situation, I'm just saying with COVID, ammo and gun supply is practically non-existent. I'm just saying things should be looked and scrutinized with a healthy dose of skepticism, things are not what they seem on the surface.  Just look at what is going on with certain states, those with conservative administrations and those with liberal administrations. You will see patterns emerging. Above all we should all be practicing protective behavior like masks, hand washing, hand sanitizer etc. Pay attention to DC and state capitals and the news. Stay informed. Not making the sky is falling warnings, just don't blindly believe what you are being spoon fed right now by the government.

Not sure if i posted here already or not, last spring I barely changed anything, only major change was traveling farther to hunt a different area of Michigan where I had a place to stay and of course Nebraska hosed non res.

I hunted IL. Mo. WI. In. and MI.

Plans this year, NM. Co. Mo. WI. MI. NE. OK.?

i went online yesterday to buy leftover tags for wisconsin. i always put in for 2nd season, get it, and then get in line early to buy 3rd(my favorite season). 

i got into the online "line" yesterday and was randomly awarded number 2,000 something. when my turn came up i couldn't purchase the 3rd season tag. thought maybe something was wrong as i've never not been able to purchase in this fashion.

i called the dnr and the lady told me they had 16,000 more applications than last year. in my frustration i didnt ask if she meant just for my ZONE or the entire state. either way. gonna be a lot more dead birds this spring

keep shooting them 'yotes. i'm sure it'll help

 on July 20, 2020, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) issued an advisory for Kentuckians who have traveled to states reporting high numbers of COVID-19. The advisory recommends a 14-day self-quarantine for travelers who went to any state reporting a positive testing rate equal to or greater than 15 percent for COVID-19. Currently, those states include: Missouri, Idaho, South Dakota, Iowa, and Alabama. Puerto Rico is also included. It is recommended that visitors to these locations stay home for 14 days, starting from the date you left that location. This is not a mandate.
