I have a gun that had a graphics kit on it. What works for getting the residue off of the wood stock and the metal after I take the graphics off?

For the metal I've used carb or brake cleaner (I know, kinda harsh). Not sure about the wood.

I just looked on a bottle of Goo be gone. Says for unfinished wood only, beware if you try that. Good luck...
