No hunting till the 17th for me. The boy gets to go out the 15th. Work has me swamped right now and most of my hunting areas in Wv are now treeless. I have managed to find some new spots that hold birds so I think it will all work out. Just trying to get work under control and waiting for the greenight.

Good luck to ya. Opens the 12th here, youth and disabled opened last Saturday. With nothing more than quick drive by scouting, seems to be a few good birds for me to chase.

Ours has been open for a couple weeks, I've been calling for friends and a couple youth hunts as well. Was gonna go solo in the morning but my cousin called and wants me to go with him to try and get him a bird as well lol... we still have well over a month left in our season so I've got plenty of time left to bag one for the team, knock on wood...
Not yet. My plans for NC went belly up and NY opens on 5/1. I'm already getting turkey hunting withdrawal symptoms and shakes. :-)
Gotta get out there!
Been out a couple of times no luck yet. KY season comes in 4/15 be able to hunt more then.
2 more days, looking forward to gun opener on Wed.

Hate to say it but I will not be in the woods till Sat at the earliest. Work has me tied up bad. Hopefully it will break soon and I can out a little more.

Been out several times with no luck yet. Have been seeing birds they are just playing hard to get with a bunch of hens. Might be better off to hunt after 10am but we will see. Had a Tom screaming this past Friday morning but when he got to the field he started putting and ran like heck. I think he has played the game before. LOL. I am sure he was a giant but I guess he will continue to spread his genetics for now. Heading out in the morning and it is supposed to be good weather but it might rain hard tonight which will make it impossible to get to my spot.
Yep, birds are hemmed up and tough. Did find one line bird yesterday morning, he came in well for my brother.

Just picked up another 3,000 acres to hunt in MD. Should be hunting it in a week or two.

Yes it's a good deal. Beauty of it is that it borders the 65,000 acres I have to hunt in wv and the backside of a state forest. Finally free to start hunting tomorrow. Made it out two days so far. One it was raining sideways and the other should have resulted in a dead bird but didnt. Was repositioning on a bird when I called to check him I had one cut loose behind me. Thought I had time to turn around. I was wrong. Time to get serious now. On the bright side I have called in four jakes to gun range. Be good next year.

No joy today. Set up on a tom this morning. After letting him fly down I managed to get a hen good and riled. She was coming fast with the tom gobbling right along with her cutting. Unfortunately he was stopped about 150 yards from me by what sounded like a 22 hornet. Walked to the rise and watched the fellow March into the field to claim him. So that's that.
