I've been extremely busy this season and haven't got out as much as I usually do during the spring but I've made the most of my opportunities so I have no complaints.
Last night I heard a bird gobbling in a spot that I thought I might be able to call over to the spot I can hunt. I setup and it was quiet this morning. I called every 15 minutes or so and got a gobble. A few minutes later he was closer, then closer until I caught a glimpse of him. He strutted up to the DSD's and was about to start beating on the Jake. I decided to give the decoy a break and I whacked him in the head at 6 yards with a bullhead.
