A lot of guys have been wondering about the new Rooster XR shells by Winchester in 2.75in to shoot in old guns so I did just that.
Browning A5 12ga 2.75in Belgium made
29.5 inch Full Choke
Winchester Rooster XR 2.75in #6 1.25oz
57 degrees and 28 yards (lazered)
Turkey target 12 inch circle 179 hits and 88 on the turkey just in the circle.
Turned target over and measured best 10in circle and had 187 hits.
Overall for a 30 yard gun shooting 2.75in shells I'm very impressed

Wow that's pretty good, I may have to get a box and try some in my 1100 30" full, I have a truck load of other 2 3/4 only shotguns, but the 1100 just seem to out shoot the rest at 30yds.
I liked the pattern. No reason why I shot 28 instead of 30 other than I had a stump to sit on at 28 lol
don't they make them in 20ga????
might have to buy some and try in a 2-3/4 Winchester 20ga that I have
no 20 gauge

Would believe you can add a few more effective yards to that old turkey killer now.
