Title: Making a Trumpet Yelper Turkey Call
Post by: CatawbaCustomCalls on July 09, 2020, 03:54:49 PM
I have been looking through this forum, and others, for information on how to build a Trumpet Yelper Turkey Call for several weeks now. I have found several old posts. First was an post on this forum from May 2018, http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php/topic,83682.msg810538.html#msg810538. And a second post ,http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php?topic=32371.0.
I also found information on Tho Game Calls forum How to Make a Turkey Trumpet Call, By Marvin Hasenak Of Hasenak Game Calls,
mhasenak@yahoo.com,  https://mafiadoc.com/how-to-make-a-turkey-trumpet-call-tho-game-calls_5a04de3d1723dd3edd5e9879.html .
And most recently I found an article in the American Woodturner April 214 Trumpet Yelper Turkey Call by Danny Wells,  file:///C:/Users/The%20Grants/Desktop/Old%20Desktop/Rick's%20Favorites/Catawba%20Custom%20Calls%20and%20Woodcarving%20and%20Turning%20Art/Trumpet%20Calls/AAW%20Trumpet%20Yelper%20Turkey%20Call%20by%20Banny%20Wells%20highlighted%20inortant.pdf. All good information.
But so far no videos or YouTubes on How to turn a Trumpet Call. If thee are any out there Please let me know.

I've never seen a video on turning a trumpet either, really is no different than any other lathe turning. The trick is the gazillion variables when creating the internals/length/MP details......sorry to say it just takes lots of experimentation, fun journey though, you will develop your own sound for sure....go for it, and have some fun!

Look at the top of the page, you will see a tab for "Messages" there should be a number next to it which tells you how many messages are awaiting you.

I found the messages tab,  and I think I pm back to you, I Think!.
I would like to see the calls you have for sale.
I have a lathe. I have been turning pot calls and owl hooters for a couple years. Even selling some pots.
