Good mornin.....newbie to the forum here.
I have a 11-87 that is prestine except on the receiver (opposite of bolt side). I would to know if there is a way i can touch the camo up...or maybe theres other suggestions. THANKS MUCH
I have the same gun and would leave it alone. The wear on a turkey gun tells stories of the mileage walked and turkeys harvested.
It would be tough to do. I have the same gun. I did however give mine a coat of flat clear coat. It seems to have help prevent further wear.

I have 12 of the old school camo guns and would leave it alone also.
okay guys...the consensus wins..il leave it be....
its called character, nice gun!
You could always sell it to me? LOL. Just kidding, great gun. Would love to find one like that.....
Its amazing at the guns that you'd purchase ..at the time....that you would never imagined that would be so
sought after...
That's one of the beauties....tough to get. Great gun....
If I would have only known to buy up those original Bottomland and Greenleaf 870's 11-87's along with Bob Dixon vests.

Just think. Some piece of turkey hunting gear that is readily available today will be hard to come by 25 years from now. Should I go out and buy a V3 turkey pro?

Better wait until they offer it in original Bottomland or Greenleaf

If we only knew......
Wanted to mention something I learned the hard way, but not bad. I am a lefty shooter, I carry my gun with sling on left shoulder. I noticed some very minor scratches on the camo on my SBE in similar areas that your gun had the scratches. So I had my wife look at the gun while I had it on my shoulder, she noticed it was rubbing against a plastic strap buckle on my vest. It definitely was rubbing the gun when I walked, and eventually would have worn through the camo. I put some rubber tape around the buckle, problem solved. Shared this in case anyone sees similar scratches on their guns. Be safe, enjoy....

Nice observation. When I hunt with my Greenleaf 870 I carry it in my hand. The only time I will shoulder it is when I am standing still. If I'm moving it is in my hand. It is almost mint condition and I want it to stay that way.
You bet, sling carrying can lead to wear on gun finishes. Nothing wrong with hand carrying our guns at all times....be safe.....
There are a few hydro dip shops that will dip it again in Mossy Oak Bottomland Greenleaf if the wear bothers you. The pattern is still available.
I had an 870 re-dipped by CFG in Bottomland Greenleaf awhile back that was worn and showing a few rust spots.
Thanks my friend......

The pattern is available but it isn't the same as the original Remington guns. Not to say that it is inferior but it isn't the same. I had my now dedicated Turkey gun done by IMO one of the very best in the business and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined but it isn't a match to the original Remington Bottomland and Greenleaf guns.

Yea, those patterns were unique. Bet yours turned out good though. It's a great pattern, old or new....

Gotcha.....
Easy touchup......Go to your local hobby shop, Testor's model paints can be had in any color you may need to fix minor scratches in camo.........use a flat finish paint, use a fine brush, allow to dry 24 hours then buff with a dry cloth to turn the matte into a semi gloss if that's a better match to your gun.
