No experience with the renegades but have 3 pairs of tibets. I wear them everyday and love them.

Ran the Renegades this season...super pleased.  My only complaint was they were extremely hot.  I typically ran the renegades in the morning and some lighter weight keens in the evening.

waterproof membrane or leather lined model? Leather thick enough for snakes?

Ive been close to buying a pair several times but I always seemed to find enough reviews about the waterproofing not lasting long to make me shy away but they are regarded as a very comfortable boot. The only lowas I have are leather lined baffin pros.they do their job as a bombproof yet heavy and stiff boot for out west but not one I like to wear turkey hunting.

My current boot for turkey is the hanwags banks and they've been incredible for my feet.

I don't have any experience turkey hunting in them but I can tell you they made it through a 6 month deployment to Iraq and another 6 months in Syria and are still in good shape. I would definitely take them overseas again. So I think they should hold up in the woods pretty well. Didn't have a lot of experience in water though for obvious reasons. Some rain lots of mud and rocky/sandy terrain.

I have turkey hunted in the Renegades for years, I wear a pair of gaiters with them to keep my legs dry and I love them.  Super comfortable with good support.  Feels like wearing sneakers in the woods.

X2.  I wore the Turtle Skins this season.  Some people complained about the noise, but I never ran into that issue...but I do walk a lil bow legged  ;D

Lowa boots are very well made and hold on a ridge like a goat. However, if you're gonna put in quite a few miles, I definitely prefer a lighter boot. Lowa boots are heavy! If it's fairly cool, I wear my 20+ yr old Russell's with some built in Thinsulate. They're a bit heavy too, but fit like a glove. If it's not in the 30's, I personally prefer hiking shoes such as Salomon's or Kenetrek Bridger Ridge. Both are lowcut but are "waterproof."
