Title: Rainy Day Gobbler
Post by: Spring Creek Calls on May 15, 2020, 09:33:10 PM
Weather radar says we have a couple hour break in the rain. Slipped out to my deer shack behind the house. First series of calls with the box pulled a gobble from a bird about as far as I can hear one. A few calls and a half hour later he's gobbling on the high point of my woods, directly above me. A few soft yelps on my ghost cut diaphragm from Martin  Calls and he's creeping down the trail towards my lone hen decoy. The #9 TSS stopped him just 6' from the decoy. 20lbs, 9" beard and 3/4" spurs definitely a 2 year old.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200516/5ffc12c5cd547ab4b75e28cfe0ba7716.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200516/8d97f327bd4751cf64705db10d774940.jpg)

You mean...  You can still hunt turkeys whilst it is raining???

Great job on a nice bird!

Congrats. I took note that you enforced the socially distancing standard when you allowed him 6' from the decoy before the hammer was dropped.

Awesome bird and good job!

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that 6' thing :icon_thumright:
