Title: Anyone Who Has Hunted Texas
Post by: Jstocks on May 05, 2020, 05:07:54 PM
Anyone ever hunted Maverick County Texas?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good outfitter/guide service in south Texas? Really looking for a semi guided/trespass fee type hunt. I don't need a guide.

Really a two part post. Outfitter/guide service doesn't have to be in Maverick. I would prefer south zone.

Maverick can be hit or miss depending on reliability of surface water and adequate roosting trees.  That's some scrubby, dry country.  It also manages to produce some giant deer.  Will likely be running corn feeders and should be able to send trail camera photos of birds hitting feed if birds are present.  As far as outfitters go, I don't have any I can recommend although I'm sure someone will chime in with some suggestions.  I'm just a Texas resident that knows the area.
