Was fortunate to finally get a nice bird this morning, and upon inspection he has solid black wing feathers mixed in with the normal striped ones. Anybody else seen one like this before? He was 20lbs 7oz, 9.5" beard, and 1.25" spurs.
Very nice! Congrats on a beautiful harvest.

I've killed one in my lifetime that had one solid black feather on each wing. Cool

Congratulations, nice bird and really neat looking.

yes killed one like that a few years ago...and didn't start paying attention to it until I was cleaning him. I caped and kept his wings for a fan and wing mount but if I had to do it over again and been paying attention I would have mounted him.
Congrats on a really cool gobbler
Nice gobbler .. congrats
I'm all about character so you hit the Turkey lottery in my opinion. At least preserve the wings for display. I've taken a pile but never one like that.
Congrats on a nice one
Cool thanks guys, I saved the wings and fan and am going to make a display with them. I didn't notice the feathers either until he was in the back of the truck. Maybe he's 1/2 Osceola ... :toothy12:
Congrats on a beautiful bird.
Very cool bird!! Congrats!!
Sent from deep in the woods where the critters roam.
Very cool!
I love seeing pics of unique wild turkeys. Congrats!

His left wing had more black, the right wing only has 3 solid black feathers.
Congrats on a real beauty
Congrats on an awesome looking gobbler! So unique- definitely worth doing something with probably a once in a lifetime bird.
Nice! Now that's a sharp looking bird, you might want to mount him
