Just curious. I've used one piece strikers from some of the big names and have yet to find one I really like. I seem to get the best sounds out of a pot with a plain old two piece, non flared round tip striker. I'd like to have some in different woods but there doesn't seem to be nearly as many options with two pieces. Any suggestions for somebody who makes good ones in a variety of woods?

I am just getting into the striker arena now, this forum has all the knowledge on this topic. I recently got new strikers from Jeff at JLH, he is a forum member. His strikers are fantastic, great guy to deal with. He will field your call personally, pm him and he will get right back to you. I also have heard through the forum that Clay Townsend makes a great 2 piece striker. I have one of his calls, it is fantastic so I am sure his strikers follow suit. I am sure others have way more knowledge here, and will ping in on this. Good luck.....
I have a very nice 2 piece Spalted Maple Hickory from Jeff, the one on the right is his one piece Frogwood.

Clay Townsend hands down in my opinion.
I doubt it's as much the construction as the wood type. I might be wrong. I've got some excellent one piece strikers that will outperform anything I've got in the 2 piece realm. Having said that, there are a couple 2 piece that I like as well. Jeff (JLH) makes an awesome striker. I've got a couple from another maker but I'll not mention his name because he's made it clear he doesn't like turning strikers. But, I have one of his black locust strikers in every turkey hunting rig (vest, satchel, freaky seat) that I carry/wear. There's a reason. Good luck with your search. And maybe just going with a straight tip might be your ticket. My friend hates flared tip strikers. He doesn't run them well. But he does very well with the straight tip strikers.

Mr. Fowler was the best!
Lights Out Game Calls made me several years ago and they are awesome still to this day. They are 1 piece stikers, I do not like 2 piece...
