Title: Field rotation
Post by: NEKVT on April 26, 2020, 08:49:20 PM
I have these fields by my house, typically they roost and fly down in one and travel to the others, However it seems the change it up just before turkey season for no reason. Do turkeys typically rotate the fields that roost near and fly down into in the AM?  See diagram: Typically they fly down in field A and Move to field B and Then Field C. But it seems when i attempt to patern them, they switch it up and end up flying down and staying in Field C.... Do turnkeys rotate? why do they switch up the roosting spot?

Listen 2 the meateater podcast with Dr Micheal Chamberlain. He'll talk about roosting habits. I think they actually start talking turkey about the 14 min mark.

More than likely they are moving around because of weather conditions. Getting out of the wind etc. They are always going to roost were they have good food source and feel safe.

Seems to me the solution is to roost them. Then you'll know where to be in the AM.
