Title: Hunted IN the house today
Post by: peytoncreekhunter on May 14, 2011, 08:12:04 PM
I decided with gas being so high, the weather and since I've gotten 2 birds that I was going to stay home today.
I'm glad I did becasue my daughter come running out of her room screaming "Oh my God call an exterminator there's a opossum in my bedroom under the bed". I jumped up off the couch and said WHAT.

Sure enough there it was. I got a axe to club it with but as I approached it backed up and started hissing. I thought better of it and shot it with a .22lr. Called my wife and she said why did you shoot it couldn't you just catch it. Yeah right.....not me. I will say this for her though, she and my daughter cleaned up the mess.

It is now resting peacefully in the trash can.

Only thing I can figure is that we sometimes leave the sliding door open with the screen door closed. It must have come in here because the screen is ripped at the bottom like a doggy door for the dog to come in and out.

Man!!! I'm glad you didn't use the turkey gun. What did you wife say when she saw the bloody mess. Next time try a broom.
