Title: Slow start in Ohio heated up-tagged out last two days
Post by: eggshell on April 24, 2020, 04:41:28 PM
The first two days of our season I literally only heard two single gobbles. Up to Thursday 4/23 I had not worked a bird. Then the switch flipped about mid morning yesterday and I tagged #1, then today birds were active and our first set up was on henned up gobblers. I struck a bird at 10:30 and he ran right too me and boom I was tagged out in back to back days. Hunting these critters is a roller coaster. I hope it heats up for everyone and you fill your tags. Now if I could only get an out of state tag in ky. Oh well.

Still waiting on ohio to reopen nonresident license sales. Can't hunt our lease till then. Anyone hear any updates on this?

I'm betting that won't happen. Sorry about your loss, I understand it sucks to  have put out money for something and then be denied use of it. You have plenty of company.

Same here.  If not OH will be somewhere north or west.  Rather boring with FL ending 4/26.  A short weird season.

I hope everyone remembers this in the state and local elections.  No reason for this when it comes to turkey hunting.  You may want to take a look at some state forums in several places and see how much non-res bias there is now.  KY by far the worst.  Other states a little more subtle.  What this did was overload areas that allowed non-res hunters.  This entire situation stinks and should not have lasted more than three weeks.  Grrr!
