Congrats on the nice bird. You get him around home?..Mike
Very nice picture. Congrats on a good bird.
Mike, just a few miles from my doorstep. This season in WI has whooped my arse. Close calls but lots of struggles with the snow, rain and wind. There have been zero gobbles by us but toms are there. This guy was the lone strutter in a group of 5 with the first 2 being toms, next 2 hens, and then him. No dekes, no calls, just pattern and wait for the last 3 weeks. I had passed on 8 jakes several evenings before and thought I was perhaps making a mistake. Glad I held. Lots of first time "skunkings" in our neck of the woods this year.
Awesome picture! Congratulations on a great bird and way to stay in there in tough conditions.
Congrats on a great day, beautiful bird and time well spent with your son! Beautiful pic too!
