Has anyone recently driven into Texas from Louisiana to hunt since the mandatory quarantine has been in effect? What is the procedure when you are stopped? I'm coming from Alabama through the Pelican State and was wondering.
Thanks
All traffic except 18 wheelers is currently stopped at the rear area on I10 westbound in Orange. You will be ushered to the rest area and forced to either fill out quarantine papers that include your tag number drivers license number address etc. and you will be asked why you are in Texas. If you have work papers then you will be ushered in through from what I saw.
I came through last week.

I have the form filled out already. Were you hunting? And did you tell DPS you were going to hunt?
I live in Texas. I was just trying to get home from my parents house in Ms.

I will be doing doing the same. I just spoke with the Texas Hwy dept. They could not give me a straight forward answer. I'm not staying in Texas just driving straight thru. They said they could not give me a yes or no. Any info you find out I appreciate letting me know
Call 844-986-1093 Texas dept of public safety and listen to the recording. From what I understand as long as you are not from Louisiana and driving straight thru there shouldn't be any problems.

I called and listened to the recorded message and based on that I'm going to give it a whirl. Also it specifically stated travelers may pass through the state with no quarantine restrictions.
Have the paperwork filled out and tell em you're going hunting. They'll say you have to quarantine wherever your destination is for 14 days or until you leave. No biggie.
