Title: His to you carry your turkey chair comfortably
Post by: Happy hooker on April 20, 2020, 12:48:30 AM
I have an ALPS turkey chair colapseable and I love how comfortable it is to sit in. Comes in a tote bag that slings over one shoulder,,it gets heavy and slides around on the one side. I was wondering if anybody has found a more convenient way to carry and especially center in the middle of your back like a backpack so you distribute the weight more evenly.

Go on amazon and spend ten or fifteen bucks for a pair of backpack straps. Fold the chair up and attach the ends of the straps to the chair frame with zip ties. Just make sure where you strap them to does not impede the chair from fully opening. Then just adjust the straps to a comfortable length and go hunting. Don't bother with the carrying bag, takes too much time and too much noise. Get a bungee strap, a Velcro strap, a buckle, or anything like that. Just strap it around the top to keep the chair from falling open as you walk. I use a small cord with a slip knot myself, quiet and fast. Hope that helps.

I just have a couple pieces of paracord attached to my backpack and tie it to the center of the pack. I hate having it strung over one shoulder strangling my neck.

Not like a backpack, but I attach a neoprene rifle sling to the ones I have.  One had a bag and it was a hustle to take in and out.  I use the rifle sling to carry and a small bungee cord to hold it together as I move.

Extend the strap, loop the strap over your head and put the chair on your back.  Tighten the strap and your good.

I just carry mine with the to short worthless strap in hand. Ive heard of others cutting the strap in the middle and adding in a piece of longer strap. I also have heard some guys get rid of the strap that come with the chair and reattach a gun sling.

I had a couple of claw gun slings around the house. I attached them and carry it like a backpack. Can hardly tell its even on my back.

Due 2 shoulder surgeries. I replace the original strap. With the velcro straps. From the shoulder harnesses from the surgery. Works great. Very comfortable.

A purchased a bag with a strap to carry mine from a guy that used to be in here. His company was USA hunting gear or something like that?  I purchased this several years ago and it has served me well.

Friend of mine made some camo bags with a long handle to carry stuff in for long days hunting.  I never used it much as I quit deer hunting.  It is about 12" wide and 30" deep when flat.  Long strap.  I just drop the folded chair in it and sling it over my shoulder and neck.  I also drop one of those little half umbrellas in on a rainy day. Someone on here had a link to someone that makes the camo sacks like that.  Rides nice and quiet and out of the way.  Have toted it a long way in that bag.

I used the claw slings because they are rubber. I like the fact that they do not absorb water.
