Title: Choke suggestion - almost ready
Post by: scottprice on April 17, 2020, 07:34:20 AM
My 20 gauge Weatherby SA-459 should be here any day. I have some Federal TSS #7s on the way and now I need a recommendation for a choke tube. I don't count pellets, I just want dead turkeys. I put a 40 Yard limitation on myself because I like to get them close. Let me know what you have for sale or what you recommend

Invector/Moss/etc

Carlson is pretty affordable and shoots a nice even pattern. That's what was recommended to me when I first got the 459

Mine likes a Sumtoy 562-5 for a hot core & rob Roberts 570 for more open hunting pattern. Both are great chokes for that gun.

Sumtoy or Briley for me. Never tried an Indian Creek but heard great things about them.

I have Carlson's in both of 20 gauges and they both seem to perform well. Sumtoy seems to be a nice choke in them as well
