This year one of my Achilles tendons has been sore due to the sudden increase in walking. Has anyone had a similar issue? If so, do you have a recommendation of a boot/insole or a combination of boots and insoles that helped prevent/alleviate some of your Achilles discomfort. if you have a moment, i would love to hear what you did to help combat this issue.
Many thanks,
GMC
A good arch supported orthotic insert works for me.
Could be an inflamed bursa sac???

A good arch supported orthotic insert works for me.
Plus a heel lift to keep the tension off the tendon
Orthodic soles and lifted at heels works for me, also lace boots tight
I'd wear a boot with a heel and then add an adjustable heel lift inside of that to find your sweet spot. Do a runner's stretch before you get going, 10 sets of 10 seconds three times per day. Order a night splint and wear it religiously. Ice your posterior heel at the end of the day, and take Ibuprofen/Aleve as needed.
Years ago had a problem with pain in my Achilles tendon area. It turned out to be a bone spur which when removed ended the pain.
I had something similar a few years back. Went to a foot doctor and he diagnosed me as plantorfaciitis. I got some arch supports and had to get a steroid shot in my foot twice a week for like 2 or 3 months. Started feeling great after first shot. After that treatment I have not had another problem. I know before getting treatment I just gritted my teeth and limped along. Not saying thats your issue but was just putting it out there for you in case. Good luck.
I had Achilles tendinitis a few years ago. Just woke up one morning with it and when my foot hit the floor it was excruciating. No way I could have hunted. They gave me a prescription and it was fine after a few days. I don't think any boot or aid will help.
