I was talking with some buds about some local hunting spots. One in particular comes up every year..about an old fella that has some land that joins National Forest way back in the sticks. He keeps to himself and dont come out the sticks much. Well If I ever heard a name that gets the imagination going its
Tolar Ranson...
We always joke..and wouldnt mind speaking with the old man about hunting..but I have no intentions of becoming stew meat..so I guess I will have to go round that place.
Scardy cat.... :help:
TRKYHTR
LOL! I guess you gotta play the odds. Chances are he doesn't want to wear your skin as a shirt....but then again. :D
Take a chance, might be the best move you ever made..
Just take a buddy along when you approach him :)
A good hunting buddy of mine came upon an old man like that here in the Ozarks a couple of years ago. He was squirrel hunting and was easing down a loggin road in the National Forest, here came this old man carrying a SKS! He stopped and talked to them for a while and told them he owned 40acres just around the bend, as they continued on sure enough there was his house.
We went out there the next fall to see if we could run a bear bait on his property, as we got to the turn off to his house, there was a huge pile of dirt in the road with a limb sticking out of the top of it with a tattered old shirt hanging off it. The old man wasn't home, and didn't appear to have been there for a while. We got creeped out wondering what was under the pile of dirt in the road. We got out of there and haven't been back!
Was that banjo music I heard?

Dang Stephan, that's creepy....makin' the hair on my arms and the back of my neck crawl around...... :o
you never know what's out there
I once ran into a camp of militants, that was creepy. We went into the ranch but turned around when we saw the sign that tresspassers would be shot. And when we got to the high ground we saw them through binos and they were drilling with AK's. lol glad we got out of there.
Guess i'll post my story. We too have a guy we joke about. Lippy, is what we call him. Well everyone including the game commission knows he's crazy. He puts up posted signs all over the place. infact he has a sign on a tree that says "welcome to state gamelands" I was turkey hunting on gamelands one day and here he comes walking through, I whistle at him to let him know I was there and he puts his shotgun barrel in my direction and starts blasting. By now I am behind the tree ducking and taking cover. I start shouting "YOU FREAKING IDIOT!!" Then he starts shouting back...."YOU ****** TRESSPASSER I OUTTA **** BLOW YOUR HEAD OFF!. Well before he discharged another round in my face I high tailed it outta there and called the police. He claims I was walking all over his property. The case never went very far. He has soo much money he probably bought his way outta the deal.
