Title: Looking for a new turkey seat/chair/cushion!
Post by: LegendHunter on March 25, 2020, 10:57:03 AM
I've been using an old walmart camo cushion for turkey hunting the past few years. Looking to purchase something that is a little more comfortable. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks

Check out the alpz mountaineering low chair. Identical in size and shape to their camo turkey version, but it's an aluminum frame instead of steel and about 3 pounds lighter. The aluminum comes in orange or green, but I rattlecanned mine with some camo spray paint and it does the job just as well. I zip tied backpack straps to it and I can throw it on and not even notice it's there until I get to my spot. When I fold it up I also slide my folded bipod into the middle, and use a flexible cord tied with a slip knot to cinch it tight. I don't bother with the carrying bag, too much trouble. Give it a shot.

Primos has one called the Wing Man Chair , that's pretty nice . I also use one of those 17 inch round camo cushions in my chair.

I have the Alpz and the Walmart Turkey Chair (can't remember the name).  Both are very comfortable and sleep well when the action is a little slow.  Walmart has several of theirs in our 3 local stores in the sporting goods section.  Around $20.

I'm trying out an Alps padded stadium type chair with some carrying g capacity.  It has backpack style carrying g straps a f netting on the sides and bottle carriers on each side with a zip off front flap that carries a lot call, strikers and has a small zipper pocket.  It's good for minimalist I think.

If I'm going to a spot where I know I might set at awhile, I'll take my Cabela's gobbler lounger seat.  Most other times I carry the Hunt Comfort Fat Boy seat.  A little on the expensive side but it is the most comfortable seat pad I have ever used.  My butt doesn't go numb after 20 mins like all the ones I tried before.
