Well, I hoped it wouldn't happen. The Hawaii governor put the state on lockdown until Apr 30. This triggered a bunch of reductions in flights, even the interisland ones. Restaurants are take-out only. As the case & death no.s increase, I expect hotel closings too. We were supposed to fly over this Thu.
I couldn't chance it. Maybe I'll get to do a freezer filler trip for 2-3 Axis does on Molokai this summer, but still...dang it!
Good luck to everyone!
Sorry to hear. Feeling pretty fortunate I was able to get there before all of this mess.
Very sorry. That sucks big time.
So sorry , we are for sure in some difficult times.
Sorry to hear that.
That sucks man... this whole Coronavirus issue has really just ruined things. My wife and I were going to close on a house later in April. But then this Coronavirus stuff just happened and I was watching the economy take a major hit. Not to mention the state says I cant work at the moment. Hopefully we can all just resume back to normal soon.
I hate it for you OP. I have a similar situation with a hunt I had lined up in California with a customer of mine. The convention I was flying out there for was cancelled. I planned to tack a couple days on the front end of the trip to hunt his place but now that won't happen. Maybe next year.
Yeah that is not what anybody wants. I know some of my hunts will more than likely be messed up before it is over.
Even driving is getting hard if you need a motel. Flying is almost completely out now. Sorry to hear your trip had to be cancelled. :-[
Very sorry, but necessary if we are to beat covid-19. Many are sacrificing and suffering.hopefully a big downturn soon and we start trending back to normal
Yes the 14 day mandatory stay in room for any one coming over to Hawaii now will stop everyone. We will be leaving tonight back home. Had plans on being hear another three weeks. But all state parks and anything else is closed down so headed home. So other then turkey hunting nothing else to do.

Feel bad for you. The wife and I did our honeymoon in Hawaii this year March 8-16 and hunted turkeys as part of it on public. On the 16th things really started to get whacky with the airlines and we were worried we wouldn't be able to make it back. We dodged a bullet for sure.
That stinks. I hope you didn't lose out on much money. Killed my hunt to Alabama this past week as well. Spent $163 on a 3 day hunting license. My wife is an X-ray tech. We were supposed to leave last Saturday. We were going to camp and that license was my birthday present from my wife. Anyway they cancelled her vacation time and we couldn't go. Really bummed about it not to mention, We basically donated $160 to Alabama DNR lol. Kids were bummed too
