Struck out on the opening morning. Wind was rough and the only bird I heard gobbling henned up. I went back at 1:30 after the wind calmed and hoped that his hens left him. They did. It's a stressful time but God is still good and in control!

Congrats on the opening day success.

You mention God , you say He is good which He is . I find the picture disrespectful ...both to God and to the creature that God put on earth . We are blessed to hunt this creature by God's good grace.  I see nothing respectful by you shoving a spent shell down his throat .

Thanks guys, I hope y'all have a good season!

				Congratulations on your turkey

Congrats I had the same issue in SC this morning.  Except I didn't kill one. Worked one for 1.25 hours to within 60 yards and he just would not break that distance.   He walked around me in a semi circle staying just out of gun range.   I know where he was headed so maybe he will be roosting where he should be in the morning.

Good job. i live in the northwest corner and have hunted 9 days out of the first ten. I've heard one faint gobble and seen two hens one morning about 10 a.m. I am starting to wonder what's going on. Not typical at all. Maybe the turkeys practicing social distancing.
