Title: One call!
Post by: Here turkey turkey turkey on March 13, 2020, 01:33:51 PM
If you could only use 1 call on extremely pressured land which would it be? there's no switching up from a box to a mouth call scenario's either, lol.

1. Mouth call
2. Pot call
3. Wing bone/trumpet
4. Box call
5. Scratch box
6. Tube call
7. Push-pin

Mouth call.  Hands are free to move the shotgun.  Second would be a box call.

Yep,...mouth calls for me, as well.  Not-too-close second would be a pot (slate).

Mouth call.
It's probably 85% of what I use anyway.

I agree , but Catman who is on this forum hunts public land pretty much all the time and all he uses is wingbone call , that he makes himself and kills a lot of birds, look him up on Youtube.

If I could only take one call (or one type of call) it would be a mouth call/diaphragm call:
Versatile
Realistic
Compact
Hands free

I enjoy playing the friction call more though.  Last season I called in a bird from start to finish with a scratcher...   So while they would be my go-to call if I could only have one call, I find myself using them less and less.
