Bored tonight so I made a little sound file of the Primos Tall Timber Gabriel box call for anybody that's interested. I got it in the mail today. First impression, well made and definitely a cut above most production calls. They say these are hand tuned in their custom shop and it does appear that is true. Runs easy, great sound, you can get two hens out of it. I started playing it normally, about halfway through started playing higher on the rail to get a clearer hen sound. Tell me what y'all think. Personally, I'd say Primos hit a home run here. Sounds better than some extremely expensive custom boxes I've owned.

Picked one up last year and I agree. Quality made and sounds really good. :icon_thumright:
Good sounding box for the price .

I agree. It's well worth the 65 dollar price tag, especially compared to other semi custom boxes like the woodhaven real hen or Cody box calls. Somebody that doesn't want to break the bank or get a on a waiting list can order one of these and go kill turkeys every day of the week. I'm going to hunt this one this year and see how the birds like it. The thumb slots are a nice touch on this box.

It's going to be a little bittersweet if this "semi custom" box call is deadlier on gobblers than my high dollar customs. Don't get me wrong, I'll hunt whatever kills turkeys, but it's somewhat mixed emotions there. Like watching your mother in law drive off a cliff in your brand new Cadillac. Know what I mean?
