Title: Rain suit
Post by: Jakew1285 on March 02, 2020, 06:19:14 AM
What rain suit does everyone wear for turkey hunting? I can't find one that I like, they seem to be to hot or just don't work well.

I would recommend the cabelas Space Rain suite.  I have had them for 3 yrs now and it is doing great.  Very light and packable, super quiet and keeps you dry.

X2 on Cabela's Space Rain suit. I also keep a cheap $6 packable poncho with me in case the weatherman was wrong. If you get caught out there a poncho will cover all your gear, vest, and gun

X3 cabelas space rain suit.  I found one in a Cabelas Bargain Shack a few years ago. I don't know if they still have the Bargain shack since they have been bought out, if they do look around in one...some pretty good stuff in there sometimes.

I've been using the Bass pro shop Bone Dry suit for several years for hunting and fishing. Keeps me dry and quiet if you move slowly. Been all thru some thorny stuff with no leaks or tears yet. I've had this set for over ten years and they get used a lot.

I prefer a poncho. Easily goes over vest and everything, and fold up pretty small. I bought a cheap one from Academy a few years ago...Game Winner brand. I think it was $12, and it works as well as anything I have tried.

Cabelas space rain suit here too, packs into a nice drawstring pouch and fits nicely in my alps long spur.

Another owner of the cabela's rain suit that stuffs inside their own little baggies. I ended up buying them because I couldn't really find anything else. I have worn frogg toggs for fishing and they were good but hated all the noise they make for hunting. The cabelas suit is ok but not great. I got rained on a few times last year and it kept me mostly dry. If you get them be carefull about where you go and what you go through or over. I found out the pants are very easy to tear.
I can't vouch for this stuff but I am going to try it when the cabelas stuff finally gives up: https://www.kingscamo.com/collections/camo-rain-jackets-and-pants
I would have bought this stuff before the cabelas stuff if I had know about it. Good luck.
