One if our turkey hunting brothers passed away last night.
Spur Man, he was captain of the Widow Makers.
Please keep his family in your prayers..

Just went back and viewed some of his latest posts through the 8th of February. 79 years young, Army Vet and a Great sense of humor. He will be missed. Prayers sent for his Family.

Hate to hear this.

We were messaging about his health last week and it didn't sound good. He was worried he wasn't going to be able to contribute much to the team this year. Talked him into staying on the team to help remind us all we are fortunate for each hunt.

He handcrafted several different game calls. I'm using a double reed duck call he made for me years ago. Attended the NWTF with him once. A fine man.

Such sad news to hear. I don't know Spurman but I love the fact he was still on a forum talking about turkey hunting at 78 years of age. Prayers for his family.

SPURMAN was an Old Gobblers worst nightmare.Spurman started out hunting the elusive LBL gobblers back when you were doing good if you just heard one. He had more patience than most ol gobblers were equipped to handle...and this persistence to be patient led to the demise of many legendary ol sharp spurred hush mouthed gobblers..We lost a GOOD MAN...he is gone on up the trail...and he will definitely be missed. Remember are fellow brother this Spring and drop the hammer on one or two for SPURMAN!
