Title: 20 thunder
Post by: lmbhngr on May 09, 2011, 09:49:28 PM
After an hour and a half of strategizing and calling the 20 finally rumbled. The birds have been real quiet so far this year. Saturday got in the woods early and this bird gobbled hard on the roost hit the ground and shut up. The hens pitched down right to him everytime from an opposite direction. I didn`t even know where he was til he shock-gobbled. He gobbled at 8:08 and at 9:40 dropped him at 31 yds. using #5 federals. Put on a heck of a show spittin and drummin all the way in. 10" beard 1" spur and 7/8" spur. The 7/8" spur was broke at the tip and one of his tail feathers was snapped. :happy0064: :happy0064:
