Title: Only In Louisiana...
Post by: HogBiologist on May 09, 2011, 09:34:42 PM
This story comes from Union Parish.  About as Bass Ackwards as you can get.

Sheriff Bob Buckley said the 16-year-old told deputies that his grandmother had asked him to mow and that he had walked away from her to a neighbor's house. She followed and grabbed him, and he jerked away.

At this point, the youth told deputies that she grabbed him again and struck him on the head with a chain that was wrapped around her hand. The juvenile then dared her to hit him again — she obliged. Deputies said there were scratch marks on the juvenile's neck where Webster had grabbed him.

Webster told deputies she was "just trying to chastise" her grandson for not obeying her.

kids need a good whopping these days.

My granny used to make me bite down on Irish spring and then pick my own switch from the pear tree for telling someone to shut up.

Chain across the noggin seems alittle harsh, but from the lack of damage it doesn't sound like granny was putting much into it.  He probably deserved a few more licks across the rear end. Most kids now days don't get proper whippings.

I saw a pretty good bit of leather in my youth. Mere hours seemed like days when moma would say "Just wait til your daddy gets home."  You hardly ever see parents give their kids a good whipping anymore.  Lots of back talking brats as a result.
