Made it back late Saturday night. My buddy and I ended up killing 5 longbeards... 3 in Missouri, and 2 in Kansas.
As most of y'all already read, i killed my highest scoring typical turkey in Missouri. As a typical, he scored 76.0. He had an 11" beard, 1 1/2" spurs on both legs, and weighed 24.0 pounds. There's not much of a story on how i killed him, because i spotted him in a meadow with 2 hens and 2 jakes, and he wasn't answering or budging, so i put the "mohecan sneak" on him. Belly crawled 150 yards, popped up, and mashed his head at 35 yards... End of story. I know it isn't your traditional call them up, gobbling, strutting, drumming, awesome hunt, but i paid $190 for a Missouri licence...I wasn't gonna let him stand out there without trying something.

The next morning, i had the pressure off, and layed down a nice 3 yr old to finish up my missouri season. (That hunt is a whole 'nother story ;))

We drove to Kansas Thursday afternoon and it was dissapointing. Jakes galore, but few longbeards. In 1 1/2 days, my buddy and I called up 26 jakes and 2 longbeards. I killed a 3 yr old with a 9 1/4" beard, 1 1/16" spurs and weighed 18 pounds. My buddy killed the other longbeard, which was a 2 yr old.

Sounds like a great time! That missouri is somethin else! I hunted missouri the last 2 years and in 5 days watched 4 birds die with 1.25 inch spurs or better. Awesome place it is. Congrats on a great bird!
Very good trip, indeed!!! :you_rock: :you_rock: :you_rock:
Sounds like a good trip to me.
Some nice birds you got!
Congratulations Quinn on a great year bud. Glad things went well for you this season. Guess congratulations are in order too for killing your all time best typical as well. Guess next year you will have to try and top that one. Even if you have to go ninja again on 'em.
Sounds like a great trip. Thats called turkey huntin, not turkey chasing. Congrats,
TRKYHTR
Congratulations on an awesome season. I've hunted a LOT of years and have never killed anything close to that biggest bird of yours.
