I wish I still had some of the videos from the past. But my favorite was an hs strut gobbling thunder, double video don't remember the number but it had three or four hunts with Eddie Salter . Eddie was my favorite turkey hunter to watch
TK and Mike
To me, there is no such thing as a pro, just someone paying to get their shows on TV
I really liked the older Truth Videos with Will Primos and Cuz they were always entertaining. I also liked the Preston Pittman videos. I really learned a lot watching his videos.
My favorite "pros" are those that are infatuated by turkeys. They realize there is no such thing as a pro and want nothing more than a chance to spend a spring with their shotgun and some turkey calls trying to beat a gobbler at a game that if done correctly he doesnt even realize he is playing. And when these fellows win they can't help but admire a wild turkey gobbler for what he is and cherish every second of it.

I love The Truth series with Will Primos and the boys!! :gobble: :gobble: :gobble: :fud: :turkey: :turkey: :turkey: :turkey:
dave owens pinhoti project
Good one, any other suggestions,I need medicine for my turkeyholism
The old Truth series, not only the turkey but everything they did was exceptional back then. I do not have a favorite pro but would not mind hunting with Will Primos, Roger Raglin or Chuck Adams. I like Jim Shockey too. Of the none living Fred Bear would be my first pick.
Dave Owens
The first 3 Primos The Truth videos I watch them before every season
Early Primos Truth and Knight & Hale
LA you still watching them on VHS?
Not much on videos unless strictly instructional. I really like Scott Ellis's instructional videos on mouth calls. Has helped a great deal.
My favorite pro was Dick Kirby My favorite video was an old Ben Rodgers Lee Tape, I enjoyed listening to him talk. My favorite hunt was watching the Drury brothers film a post kill interview and right in the middle of the interview the bird laying between the two hunters got up and run away.
Would have to be the old Primos videos, I have them all! Bought the first one the year before I started turkey hunting. And I'd spend a day hunting with Will Primos, Cuz Strickland, Alex Rutledge or Matt Morrett. I have met them all and some pretty genuine guys.

That would have been funny to see.
I love me some Pinhoti project
Ole school was Will Primos with Cuz!
Today Shane Simpson Calling all turkeys, The Hunting Public, Catman Jonathan Boehme, & of course Dave Owens

I've got the whole series on dvd, converted the VHS then sold the VHS tapes
Chubbs. And always thought Will Primos is a class act, God fearing man. Brad Farris seems like a sport to share camp with too. Of the Pros I most wish I had Cuz and Chubbs Upper Deck cards though
One of the best turkey hunting videos I enjoyed was Best of the Best by Paul Butski. Were going back to 1990 now, were talking 8 track. Also I enjoyed Dick Kirby. I learned a lot from Kirby audio tapes. I can`t leave out early Knight and Hale and Primos. Good stuff. Bringing back memories boys!
The Hunting Public, Chad Claycomb, and Dave Owens with Courtney and Squirrel.
The Hunting Public guys and Dave Owens
Videos = Early Primos Truth and Knight & Hale X2 :icon_thumright:
Favorite Pro= Dale Rahm
"The Hunting Public" videos are great as well. That and Pinhoti project and the OLD Primos videos are good stuff.
I gotta agree with some of you on Early Primos. I miss some of the guys they had a few years ago.
Denny Gulvas 3 videos

Same for me. FYI, Claycomb just started new series (2019 hunts) on YouTube.

Old Primos Movies and Pinhoti Project..
I love the way the Chubbs and Dave seem to really honor the bird after the kill. You can tell how special it is to them. I just rewatched the episode where they take Chubbs step father Lindsey out on a hunt. After it was over they were talking about how it went and they referred to themselves as "dedicated amateurs".

I just stumbled across a new channel on YouTube called "TheNaturalCalling". I don't know anything about the guy but I have watched two videos and they're great. Search for "intense turkey hunt. How to killed a henned up gobbler." It has some great video of a gobbler spitting and drumming up close. You can actually hear it pretty well. It's on public land also.

Probably the latest episode on turkeys that Meateater put out. Very plainly shows the ups and downs of turkey hunting, is honest in the mistakes made in filming, and focuses on diligent preparation, the emotional connection to the sport, and the post-hunt meal creation as much as the actual hunting itself.
Tough to beat the original Primos videos. YouTube has a ton of awesome stuff to watch these days also from just random guys like us. You can get lost for hours on there.
Mentioned in my last post that me and my buddies (Wild Texas Outdoors) film ourselves and outfitters around Texas and a few random places, all in 4K and stuff. Started off as a hobby that has turned into some awesome opportunity and partnerships with some amazing companies.
Fired up to use my new calls from Lonnie Sneed on film this year.
This was a little video we filmed last season, and have plenty more coming. Not quite the Primos guys yet but maybe one day!!

These guys are great! Extreme Turkey Hunting at it's best! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbKpvSFMPHM
Dave Owens and the Pinhoti Project. Those videos focus on real tactics and genuine woodsmanship. After watching the videos, I may have to learn how to belly crawl on a bird this year.

I used to love the HS strut cuttin n struttin videos. I think I have most of them. But my favorites without a doubt are Dave Owens/Pinhoti Project, Hunting Public, and Catman Outdoors.
All of the three above, but can't mention them without adding Shane's video's (Calling All Turkeys) to the mix. ...Not to mention that he is a regular contributor to OG (simpzenith).
Dave Owens, not sure there is a close second in my opinion
Shane Simpson's "Calling All Turkeys" In my opinion the best!
I don't watch too many anymore, but in the early days of hunting videos, I always enjoyed Paul Butski, Walter Parrott and Chris Parish.

is that the one where he took that woman out for her first hunt and he screwed it up? i was yelling at my tv lol
i really like the meateater series. made for a more broad appeal than hardcore hunters, but he is a good writer and the episodes have a narrative quality to them i like
i don't watch much other than "amateurs" on youtube. i enjoy "the hunting public" guys, and matt dale's youtube page. i don't particularly love to watch things being killed. i refuse to watch duck hunting videos anymore no matter the source simply because of what the "industry" did to duck hunting culture.
Denny Gulvas is one of the most humble, down to earth people you could possibly find. He's truly one of the sports living legends, yet he will literally spend HOURS on the phone with anyone who wants to talk about turkeys. He's a remarkable man.
Dave Owens is a breath of fresh air when it comes to filmed turkey hunts. Definitely a relatable dude to any of us that are so stricken with spring fever. I really appreciate how thankful he is after the trigger is pulled. As he puts it, "spending a little time with them".
I used to really enjoy all the Preston Pittman videos, and really enjoyed getting to know the man personally. As of now, I really enjoy watching the Pinhoti Project with Dave Owens! Dave and a few others, such as Shane Simpson, Johnathon CatMan Boehme, Chad Claycomb, and The Hunting Public, show the true struggles of today's hunting lifestyles, with occasional success! There's no staged hunting or editing, real hunting as it happens! These guys ain't trying to sell their calls or decoys, just the true excitement of the hunt, with the ups and down of the experience!
Would have to be spittin and drummin and gobblenut if you ask me. They might not get paid but the things they say I bet the paid actors could learn a few things.
These two fellows deserve lots of respect and I mean that. The actors not so much
shane simpson and dave owens
Dave Owens makes the best videos in my opinion. I also watch The Hunting Public and Shane Simpson.

I enjoy watching Dave Owens because of how dedicated and what a great caller he is.
Learned a lot from Shane Simpson as well.
Haven't seen some of the others mentioned, but I will. Thanks for the tip!
